Jonah and Eli

I just had to put these for everyone to see.  Jonah loves holding his little brother!!!

Eli is just snoozing  or maybe NOT!!!

Gentle is a word we have said quite often lately!  Joanh likes to poke him with his finger on the nose and cheeks!  He loves to kiss him, too.

Granite Trip

We went to Travelers Rest and got granite.  The place we went to has huge pieces of granite that are amazing!  We picked typhoon bordeaux.  It is not what we went there to see, but we thought this was just gorgeous.

The picture really does not really do it justice.

We picked out 3 slabs. The fabricator told us that we may not need three, but to go ahead and tag them.  He will use two and then order the third if it is needed. He is on the lookout for remnant pieces for the other counters like our master bath and the wet bar.

Sheet Rock

We have a front door and sheet rock now. The front door will be stained.  We are trying to decide whether to paint the side lights or stain them.  The front porch still has not been poured.  All around the porch & door will be stacked stone.  The lower part of the house on the outside will have astucco look.

The sheet rock has been taped and mudded.  There is still more that needs to be done to it, though.  I suppose that the workers will be back on Monday for more mudding.  We're going to meet the project manager at the supply store to pick out interior doors and trim.  Things are moving right along.  The next thing to happen will be the hardwood floors.  That may be in a week or so, I think.

Sheet rock in the garage.  It will be nice when the garage is concrete with stairs to walk up.

The great room doors leading out to the screened porch. We didn't think that they would all open, but they do.  That will be great in the spring & fall.

The lower level rec room is missing the glass door between the windows
Our dining room is very open to the rest of the greatroom.

More Eli

We took Jonah to see Jennifer and Eli today after Sunday School.  Jonah is so precious with him.  He gave him a kiss but when I was holding Eli Jonah told me that Eli needed to be back in his nursery bed.  Jonah talked about him on the way home and then went promptly to sleep.

Jonah wasn't quite sure about this new little person in his life, but he did give him a kiss before we left.

Doting grandma's

Two little boys to follow PaPa around.  Jonah loves Papa's truck so I imagine that Eli will too.

Brian, his mom, Barbara, Jonah & Eli
Barbara drove from Morgantan to see the boys & all of us and then had to go back that day.

More pictures to come!!

Eli is Here

I got a call from Jennifer on Friday from work letting me know tha she was in labor and was heading to the hospital from her Lugoff clinic.  Brian brought Jonah by to me, and Steve came later to take over Jonah while I headed to the hospital.  Elijah Turner Griffin was born about 8:30 that night.  He is 23 inches long and weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz.  A big boy!! Steve and Jonah came to the hospital to meet Eli.  They got to see him through the nursery window.
They had told Jennifer she was scheduled for 6 p.m.
Waiting to go In

but someone else came in and needed to be taken care of first.  Jennifer's surgry wasn't until about 8.

Eli's first sit-up!!!
Jonah and Papa looking at Eli through the nursery window!

His first bath- he did not seem to mind having the water flow over his head.

Brian is getting to know Eli as he gets poked and pricked.

Jennifer said Eli was protesting from the minute he was born and the whole time he was in the nursery he was hollering!   I am not sure that I blame him with all the nurse was doing to  him.  The pediatrician told Jennifer and Brian that he was perfect!

Still fussing!!
