Maybe Next Week

We have been waiting until last night.  We got an e-mail from the builder telling us that the surveyor might get to our lot very soon if the rain will stop.  The builder said that he had tweeked the plans and will finalize them once the surveyor has finished when he has the grades of the property.  We may be able to get with the builder early in the week.  This part of the process seems to be taking so long.  Probably because I am so anxious to get started.  We have been riding by our property alot more trying to imagine what is it going to be like.  It is just hard to imagine.  We don't know yet what the facade of the house will look like.

Today the kitchen contractor had to come over to our house to check on a leak Steve found in the hot water line.  Some one working in the garage had driven a nail through the hot water line.  It was during the kitchen renovation so that contractor had to fix it.  Jonah was here and loved it because his PaPa was home to see him.  They played hide in seek.  Steve would squat behind furniture and jump out at Jonah.  Jonah would squat in the middle of the floor thinking he was hiding from Steve.  That was so funny seeing him think that he was hiding.  Jonah babbles to us and will read a book babbling.  The pediatrician told Jennifer and Brian to put him in a toddler bed this summer so he won't think that they are throwing him out of the crib for the new baby.  Jonah likes me to chase him around the house pulling his little dog pull toy and bark like it is after him.  He runs as hard as he can and will stop to look back to see is we are following him.

We have been really tired this week because we have not had a chance to rest up from last weekend of keeping Jonah.  Today at school was a zoo.  I do not know why but it was.  It seemed that many of the students were so demanding. Maybe it was the rainy weather that made them crazy.  Oh well, I am off tomorrow.  My morning will be spent at the VA again with Uncle E.  I have to be out of the house before 7 to get him there for blood work so the lab can get it to his doctor by his 10 am appointment.  That will be a long day.  I told him we could have a cake at our hosue for his 80th birthday and invite Kaye, Chris & Joanne but he declined saying he had too much to do.  He said that he really liked cards so I may get him a little cake and take it to his house.

Waiting

Steve and I are waiting for the builder to finish tweeking the plans. Hopefully, he will have them this week sometime or next.  He is supposed to get someone to survey our lot to figure out exactly the position of the house with the septic tank and well.  this is the part I really know very little about.  Thank goodness Steve knows about that stuff.
I cannot wait until we begin cutting a drive into the lot.  That will make everything seem like it is really going to happen.  Of course, this may not come until the beginning of May.  That sounds like a long time to me.  I need to take a picture of the lot before we get started so that anyone who reads this will have a good idea about where we started with all this.  It actually began about 27 years ago when we lived on Hollingshed Road in a rental house in Dutch Village.  We did not have enough money then to make a down payment on a house but we coudl buy property.  We rode in this area alot and loved it.  There were not many people around there at the time and it was beautiful.  We loved the woods and the quietness of the area.  Now, the whole area has changed.  There is an elementary school at the end of Hollingshed Road and houses galore.  Our street, Timber Knoll Drive, only has 7 houses because the lots are all at least 2 acres.  Thank goodness!   Maybe next time I will a picture of our lot.
